Our kids absolutely love going to Ideal Daycare — they get excited every morning and come home happy with stories about their day. The staff is caring and professional.
Out of School Care
Out of School Care Grade 1 – Grade 6
School-age children have opinions, and a room full of toddler toys is not going to cut it. Our out-of-school care room has a foosball table, board games, a building area, and a quiet corner for reading. Children get transported, helped with their reading log, and then genuinely left alone to be kids for a while. Food is not provided.
- Educator ratio
- 1 educator to every 15 children

What we focus on
Inside Out of School Care
— what we actually do.
The handful of things this room is genuinely built around, rather than a list of everything a daycare could possibly claim.
Transportation both ways
Children are walked or driven in our daycare van between the centre and school, signed in and out by name at every transition.
Homework actually gets done
A dedicated quiet corner, a consistent time slot, and an adult who will sit down and help. Reading logs stop being a bedtime fight.
Activities they choose
Foosball, board games, LEGO builds, art, sports, and group challenges. Children this age need autonomy, not a schedule read to them.
PD days and school breaks covered
Full-day programming with outings and themed activities on professional development days, spring break, and winter break.
Outside every day
The field behind the plaza, Sakaw Park, and St. Richard Park. Fresh air after six hours of sitting is not optional.
Subsidy supported
We work with Alberta childcare subsidy for out-of-school children and will help you keep authorisations current so there are no billing surprises.
A day in the life
What their day
actually looks like.

My son was registered in this daycare since 2016 and now he is 12 years. Time to say goodbye to such loving staffs and owners. The daycare is very professional and experienced staffs. My son was taken care very well. Thanks to all staffs.
I recently visited this daycare. The daycare was well organized and clean, I was very impressed with staff and management team. They have developmentally appropriate programs and curriculum is showing towards empowering the children.
Very happy with the quality of the daycare! The staff are very friendly, professional and respecting covid guidelines. I feel this is a very good place to educate and prepare a toddler for kindergarten. Highly recommended.
Excellent and professional daycare! My children were never sick, bruised up or in need of dentists here. Children were cared for properly and staff showed respect to children and parents.

Out of School Care questions
What families ask
about this program.
If your question is not here, call the centre — you will speak to someone who knows this room.
Cannot find your question?
Call the centre and speak to a person who actually knows the rooms and what is available.
Which schools do you pick up from?
We serve schools across Mill Woods and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Tell us your child’s school when you enquire and we will confirm the route.
Do you take children only in the mornings, or only after school?
Either. Before-school only, after-school only, or both. Pricing follows the schedule you choose.
How does the subsidy process work?
You apply through the Alberta childcare subsidy office. A valid authorisation number is due on the first of each month, and renewals should be in place a month before expiry. If a number is not ready, you pay by cheque and we refund you once the subsidy arrives.
What about late pickups?
Please call us. A fee of $10 applies for the first fifteen minutes past 6:00 PM and $15 for the second fifteen. Repeated late pickups may put the space at risk, which is why we would rather you phone and arrange an alternate.
What comes next
Families usually look at
these too.
Children move up through our rooms as they grow, and many attend more than one program at once.
