Kindergarten 4.5 – 6 years
Kindergarten is a half day. Your work day is not. Our kindergarten program covers the hours on either side of school with genuinely worthwhile learning rather than a holding pattern: problem solving, social-emotional skills, and advanced play-based work that pushes children who are already reading and writing.

Early mornings, the other half of the day, professional development days, and school breaks. One arrangement instead of four.

Getting there and back
Children are walked or transported to and from their school in our daycare van, with a documented handover at both ends.

Learning that keeps pushing
Blending and early reading, sentence writing, addition and subtraction with materials, and open-ended problem solving for children who are past the basics.

Social-emotional skills, named out loud
Naming feelings, calming strategies, repairing a friendship, and standing up for yourself. This is the year those skills either take hold or do not.

Still allowed to be five
Long stretches of real play, outdoor time twice a day, and building projects that carry over across a week.

Which schools do you transport to?
We serve the schools around Mill Woods and Millhurst. Tell us your child’s school when you enquire and we will confirm whether we can cover that route.
What happens on professional development days?
We are open full days, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, at no extra charge for enrolled children. Let us know in advance so we can plan staffing and activities.
Is Ideal Daycare responsible for my child while they are at school?
No. Once your child is on school premises they are in the school’s care. We are responsible for the walk or drive and for the documented handover at each end.
