Cookies & browser storage.

This page explains every cookie and every piece of browser storage this website uses. It is a short list, because we do not run advertising and we do not track you across other websites.

The short version

• Essential storage only, by default. Nothing that identifies you is stored until you accept it.
• No advertising cookies. No third-party trackers. No cross-site tracking.
• Analytics are optional and you can decline them in the banner, or change your mind later.
• Form drafts are stored on your device only and never sent anywhere until you submit.

What a cookie actually is

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between page loads. Related technologies do the same job in different places — local storage persists until cleared, and session storage is wiped when you close the tab. We use all three, sparingly, and this page covers all of them.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the site to function, and cannot be switched off. They contain no advertising identifiers and are not shared with anyone.

• Cookie consent choice. Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking. Local storage. Persists until you clear it.
• Staff portal session. A signed, HTTP-only cookie set when a staff member signs in to the admin area. It contains no personal information beyond the fact of a valid session, and it is never set for public visitors. Cookie. Expires when the session ends.
• Security tokens. Short-lived tokens used to protect form submissions from cross-site request forgery. Cookie. Expires with the request.

Functional storage on your device

These make the site less annoying to use. They stay on your device and are never transmitted to us until you deliberately submit a form.

• Enquiry draft. As you move through the enquiry wizard, your answers are held so that a refresh does not lose them. Session storage. Cleared when you close the tab or submit.
• Registration draft. The full registration form saves as you type, so you can stop halfway and come back tonight. This is why the form is usable at all. Local storage. Cleared when you submit.
• Chatbot state. Remembers whether you have already dismissed the chat prompt, so it does not reappear on every page. Session storage.

Worth being clear about: the registration draft contains information about your child, and it lives on your device, not on our servers, until you press submit. If you are using a shared or public computer, submit the form or clear your browser data when you are finished.

Analytics — optional

If you accept analytics in the banner, we load a privacy-respecting analytics tool that tells us which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, and which links get used. We use it to work out which pages are useful and which are not.

• IP addresses are truncated or anonymised
• No advertising profile is built
• Data is aggregated and retained no longer than 26 months
• Nothing is shared with advertisers

If you decline, the analytics script is never loaded. Declining does not reduce any functionality on this site.

Embedded content

Google Maps. The map in our footer and on the contact page is an embedded Google map. Loading it means your browser contacts Google, and Google may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy — we have no control over those. If you would rather not load it, you can use the address and directions link instead.

We deliberately do not embed social media feeds, comment systems, video players, or advertising scripts, all of which would bring third-party tracking with them.

Changing your mind

• In the banner when you first arrive.
• Later, by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which resets the banner.
• Browser-wide, by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though form drafts will not save.

Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and storage for an individual site — usually under Privacy or Site Settings.

Do Not Track

We honour the browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. If your browser sends either, analytics are not loaded regardless of what the banner says.

Changes

We will update this page if we add or remove anything. Given that the list is short and we intend to keep it that way, updates should be rare.
