Ideal Daycare is a fully licensed and Alberta Government-approved facility.

What are your hours of operation?

What ages do you accept?

Our facility is licensed to care for children from birth to 12 years old. This includes specialized programs for babies (newborn to 18 months), toddlers (19 months to 3 years), preschoolers (3 to 6 years), and school-aged children in our After School program.

What is your holiday and closure schedule?

We are closed Saturdays, Sundays, and all major statutory holidays, including New Year’s, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas, and Boxing Day.

Do you accept government subsidies?

Yes, Provincial government subsidies are accepted for qualifying parents. Subsidized parents must ensure their child attends the centre for a minimum of 100 hours per month to maintain a full-time space. Visit www.child.alberta.ca for more details.

Can I tour the facility before enrolling?

Absolutely! We have an Open Door Policy, allowing parents to phone or stop by whenever they wish. We also conduct a formal orientation for all families accepting a placement to review our facility's safety items and policies.

What are your staff qualifications?

Every educator is an Alberta Government certified care provider (Level 1, 2, or 3). All staff are trained in First Aid and CPR, undergo criminal record checks and vulnerable sector searches every three years, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Are meals and snacks provided?

For our daycare children, we provide a seasonal menu for morning snacks and a hot lunch following the Canada Food Guide. After School Care children are required to bring their own lunch and afternoon snacks, though we can heat lunches on non-school days.

Do you provide transportation for schools?

Yes, we provide transportation to and from local schools for our After School Care program, including Sakaw, St. Richard, and Meyokumin. Students from Meyonohk and Frere Antoine are met at their yellow bus stops by our staff.

What is your illness policy?

To keep our environment healthy, children with a fever of 38°C or higher, persistent coughing, vomiting, or diarrhea must stay home. Children may return to the centre once they have been symptom-free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
